I am a huge advocate for self discovery. I have a whole list of incredible gurus who has already tapped into what so many of us are trying to achieve and yet no matter who they are or what the topic is the answer always is the same. Come back home to you. How incredible is this? This synchronicity that no matter the question the answer is always the same. If you are asking for love advice and how to attract the right partner… stop, relax and look inside yourself. Want to reinvent your financial situation and start your own business but have no clue where to start? Stop, relax and look inside yourself. Trying to figure out if you should stay in your marriage? Stop, relax and look inside yourself. Need advice on your next big move? Stop, relax and look inside yourself. If we supposedly have all the answers why do we ever look outside ourselves?
Now I am not saying that I am Ms. Perfect and have this whole thing all figured out… are you kidding?! I ask my mom if I should go to the bathroom now or wait until I wet my pants. I am nowhere near these gurus but I am on my way. And that is all that matters right? (Look at me! I am already asking for your confirmation that I am doing the correct thing right after I was saying I was going to start listening to myself lol… let me re-adjust that sentence). I am nowhere near these gurus but I am on my way. And that is all that matters. Being aware and making your way closer and closer to where you want to go, and where you want to go is always back to yourself. This isn’t some sort of selfish “I am more important than anyone else and my own advice will be far supreme to yours”. No. It is about connecting to the one thing in this world that knows where we have been, where we are supposed to go and is always happily waiting to give us a nudge. Our soul.
You see nobody else TRULY knows where we have been. They may know your story, the long tale you have told since the occurrence occurred but it is all clouded in perspective. And lets say they did walk in your shoes for a day and knew what you were talking about, then, then would they be able to give you advice? Nope! I mean they could but would it be of your highest calling, your greatest intent, your answer from God? No. Wanna know why? Because they are going to be coming at the issue with their past and perspective not your own. They are bringing in their relationship issues and broken marriage and crumby job, etc. Now you want to know why the advice is the same? Why everyone keeps telling us “shhhh, just sit, wait and listen”? Because our soul/heart/calling/knowing (put whatever name in there that tickles your fancy) that thing doesn’t have a biased perspective it just is. It takes everything from where you have been, where you are now and where you are called to go next and serves it up on a silver platter, no looking glass in sight.
It is unbiased.
It simply is.
And so to connect with it, we must simply be.
Take pride in how far you have come and have faith in how far you can go
